Sensitive handling of our resources

Raw materials from the region

From development to production, everything we do is "Made in Germany". That's a great label, but the regional connection to our home country goes much deeper.

GODELMANN stones are natural products and consist mainly of quartz sand, quartz gravel, basalt and granite. These natural resources are found in our immediate homeland: The GODELMANN gravel works and our sand pit are located within a radius of a few kilometers. High-quality raw materials, directly on site - an invaluable advantage for us, but also for the environment!

Thanks to the short transportation routes, we keepCO2 emissions extremely low.

Sand from Freihöls

The sand pit in Freihöls has been part of the GODELMANN Group since 2017. Located not far from our headquarters, we mine sand here under strict environmental and climate protection regulations. We have always consciously avoided blasting, only extract as much as we need for our own production and pay attention to the careful treatment of people and animals. Our primary goal is to produce areas of higher ecological quality after the extraction of raw materials than they were before. To achieve this, we recultivate areas that are no longer in use and convert them into sustainable climate forests.

Gravel from Schwarzenfeld

Our subsidiary Naabkies supplies us with high-quality gravel from 15 km around our headquarters in Fensterbach. The gentle extraction of the raw material using a state-of-the-art cable excavator ensures maximum efficiency. The renaturation and recultivation of the ponds is subject to strict conditions. In this way, intensively farmed areas are transformed into water landscapes with shallow water zones that provide ideal living conditions for the local flora and fauna.

Granite from Kulz

We produce high-quality granite chippings for our concrete products in Kulz. There we use granite blocks that are not used by local stonemasons. Modern crushing and screening plants are used to produce different aggregates for our production.

Sand is a crushed product resulting from the erosion of geologically older rocks. Its color shade is determined by the rock that was involved in its formation. We ensure that sand is extracted carefully and take care to carefully renaturalize the extraction areas.

We have set out our far-reaching environmental and climate protection goals in our environmental policy. We are constantly working to improve further. We pay attention to the controlled and careful extraction of individual components and also focus on closed cycles. We also take the renaturation and recultivation of the extraction areas into our own hands and take care of the creation of new ecosystems.
